John D Loudermilk, performer and songwriter, has died at the age of 82.
Best known as a songwriter, "Indian Reservation", "Tobacco Road" and "Break My Mind" were amongst his best known songs.
His cousins, Charlie & Ira Loudermilk were better known as country duo The Louvin Brothers.
Though Jon D was best known as a songwriter, he had a few hits as a performer including "Language of love" in 1961

Well, I didn't know the Louvin Brothers were actually the Loudermilks - you learn something every day!

While still a teenager, he wrote A Rose And A Baby Ruth which would prove to be the first hit song for another teen, George Hamilton IV. He also co-wrote George's mega hit, Abilene.
