Phil Everly, one half of the legendary Everly Brothers duo, has died in California at the age of 74 from a lung disease.
The Brothers' biggest hits were in the Fifties, but they continued performing regularly into the Seventies.
The Brothers got their start in the music world as children as a part of the Everly Family group performing live on country music radio.
Don & Phil sang in exquisite harmony, but they enjoyed a stormy relationship with each other. Their break up was a very public one, & occurred during a concert in 1973 when, mid show, Phil smashed his guitar & walked off stage. It was left to Don, still on stage, to explain to the audience that he thought the duo may just have broken up!
There were reunion concerts later, but the Brothers' classic recordings live on in Rock N Roll & Country Music history.
