Sounds REALLY great to my ears!

Looks interesting, I'll have a listen tonight. Got a feeling I saw him a few years back in Texas with Jason Allen ....

(6 April 2018) Robynn Shayne - Coffee Days and Whiskey Nights - EP
6 Tracks/ Country/ Singer/Songwriter

Image
Amazon UK - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Coffee-Whiskey ... B07BGW8ZHS
UK iTunes - https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/coffe ... 1359273383
SPOTIFY - https://open.spotify.com/album/229PHnIe ... 65drSdBuXA

BLURB: Robynn was influenced early on by the likes of Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, Jessi Colter, and Waylon Jennings.
After moving to Austin, TX, the "Live Music Capital of the World", in 2013, Robynn was inspired to write more of her own original songs and hit the music scene harder than ever.
Robynn Shayne grew up on old school Country music and that is exactly the feel you will get from her newest ear candy album!
"Coffee Days and Whiskey Nights" delivers the type of music you hear in your favorite dance halls.
With that old school Honky Tonk feel and a voice as unique as her name you will want to leave her music on repeat all day and all night long.

I bought this EP last weekend and am really enjoying.
PROPER country, great voice and terrific musicianship.
Particularly love the opening track "Whiskey and Bad Decisions" and the single "Coffee Days and Whiskey Nights"

Hope forum members approve rather then the music the Tastemakers would like us to listen too.

I really like this tune. Perfect for a day like today. Wasn't sure if it was country, tho. But, FFS, he opened for Taylor swift, so has to be country. From Crocodile Dundee land.

Thanks for the words, pleased you are enjoying the EP. It gets harder to find the good stuff if your looking for the "proper country".
Country Routes Blog poster Livewirer received a PERMANENT Message Board BAN last October following posts in the "Exclusives" thread.
It was sad to see this forum go so quiet so joined as CRoutes and having read the Year-End comments from you is hoping to stay on the right side of the moderators and that we can get along.

Sales were small in UK Debut #26 UK Country iTunes (#1330 overall) and quickly fell away. Hpoefully the tour will generate some good merch sales for her. w
My picks from her 8th studio record: ** Chase Wild Horses, * Pin A Rose, * Can't Let You Go, * Your Dear John, Black Trees

She toured the UK a few years as a solo artist. I remember the first gig that came to my area. With horrendous weather conditions in America she had a stressful drive from her home to the airport, shuttle flight to New York, Flight to London, Tube to Waterloo, 120 mile Train journey, then taxi to the venue only for there be so few people at the gig that in her words she said "I could of took them all on tour with me".

This time round she is touring with Gretchen Peters in May

New Kinky Friedman album due soon, "The Circus of Life". This from the Houston Chronicle:

He has a new album due called "Spitfire" [now retitled "Circus of Life"] that includes all new original songs, his first set since "Lasso From El Passo," which came out in 1976. Here's his description of the album's creation, which begins with a phone call from Willie Nelson at 3 a.m.

"He said, 'What are you doing?' I told him I was watching 'Matlock,'" Friedman says. "Willie said, 'Turn it off, that's a sure sign of depression. Turn it off and start writing.' So I was inspired by Willie to write 12 songs. And these 12 Willie-inspired songs, they're very different than what I've written over the years. I guess because I've had decades of not writing songs now. Stuff is percolating."

Among the songs: "Jesus in Pajamas," "A Dog Named Freedom" and "Circus of Life."

Copies are going to be available at his dates in the US in April, hope to see it here soon. I really hope it's better than his last release ... it was good to hear him recording again but it was a very patchy affair!

Edit: and lo and behold, the first single from the album is out today! "Autographs in the Rain (Song to Willie)" is up on Spotify and CD Baby (can't see it on youtube yet). Nothing earth shattering but it's definitely got that ol' Kinky drawl!

#111 US Country iTunes Chart (#821 overall all genres)

“Overall Fantastic Album” – Building Our Own Nashville

Tastemaker JAMES DAYKIN (Lyric Magazine/ Your Life In A Song)
The UK’s largest selling Country act of all time returns with a ‘crucial’ third album that blows everything else they’ve ever done out of the water!
“You Are Going To Flip…. Think Lady Antebellum and Kelsea Ballerini for touchstones as to where The Shires are now – no longer a cute English couple aspiring to be playing with the ‘big boys’, but right up there with them in terms of quality and sound. This album heralds their arrival on the world stage; they may have been ‘Made in England’, but ‘Accidentally on Purpose’ (AOP) will take them around the world….With ‘AOP’ they’ve only gone and blown the bloody doors well and truly off – everything is up for grabs now and the possibilities are endless.” -

Taken from another new Willie Nelson album!!

Press release says: This spring, Willie Nelson will celebrate his 85th birthday with the release of a new album, Last Man Standing. The follow-up to last year’s God’s Problem Child features 11 new songs written by Nelson and longtime collaborator Buddy Cannon. Below, listen to the title track, which opens with the lyrics, “I don’t want to be the last man standing/Or wait a minute, maybe I do.” The album is out April 27, via Legacy Recordings.

First listen on NPR: https://www.npr.org/2018/04/23/60223351 ... t=20180423

And I see that Cracker Barrel will have a special edition featuring 3 extra tracks. I'll have a listen and possibly invest in this edition when I'm in Texas in June since I'll be staying just opposite one of their stores.
